Welcome to the “Pacific Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Resource Hub
A dedicated online platform to elevate Pacific voices, share knowledge, and support actions that harness nature to tackle climate, biodiversity, and development challenges across our island region

This platform is a key initiative of the Pacific Islands Nature-based Solutions (PPIN) Project, developed in close collaboration with the Nature-based Solutions Working Group (NbSWG), permanent working group of the Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation (PIRT).
The NbSWG plays a central role in catalysing collective action and coherence in the Pacific’s response to the interconnected crises of climate change and biodiversity loss, through the promotion, mainstreaming, and deployment of nature-based solutions at scale. It supports PIRT Members in delivering on the Pacific Islands Framework for Nature Conservation and Protected Areas 2021–2025, and ensures that regional NbS efforts are grounded in Indigenous rights, traditional knowledge, and sound science. The NbSWG also serves as a regional hub for collaboration, discussion, and the exchange of experiences and good practices across the Pacific.
The “Pacific Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Resource Hub” is hosted under SPREP.org and linked to the Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation (PIRT), strengthening synergies and aligning with broader regional environmental goals.
Our Vision
A thriving Pacific where nature-based solutions are at the heart of community development, climate adaptation, and biodiversity protection.
Our Objectives
Showcase regional success stories and good practices in NbS
Facilitate exchange between practitioners, researchers, communities, and policymakers
Connect Pacific priorities to global NbS and ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) movements
Drive collective action through accessible and inclusive knowledge products
Who We Are
The Resource Hub is powered by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) in collaboration with the Nature-based Solutions Working Group (NbSWG), under the umbrella of the Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation (PIRT).
We are committed to an approach that is:
Inclusive of youth, women, Indigenous knowledge holders, and community voices
Grounded in the Pacific’s ecological and cultural realities
Collaborative across sectors and geographies
The Hub is curated and maintained by SPREP and NbSWG focal points, who ensure content remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with regional priorities. Contributors can share case studies, tools, or news via a simple submission form (available on the Contact page), which will be reviewed and published by the Hub administrators.
Join us in building a stronger, united Pacific NbS community
